We
in the medical field use big words to hid our emotions behind, this creates an emotional
blanket that we use to keep us from going crazy. It is VERY, VERY hard to
tell someone that their loved one is dead or that we cannot help them
anymore. However, it is a task that happens every day, thousands of times
across our nation. EMT's, Paramedic's, Nurses, Doctors and other Health
Care Professionals are constantly placed into this position and though we feel,
it is a detachment that is required by those to deal with death, as we can not
let our feelings interfere with our medical judgment. If it did, our
quality of care will decrease.
There
are links to pages of information located in TOC I & II. In
coordination with a company that produces information about illnesses, we offer
you these links. Though we try very hard to keep the medical jargon down
on this site, it does appear. These informational packets are a wonderful
resource, however they may be hard to understand. We wish we could provide
these same services, but due to time constraints, we believe we could not keep
individual pages up to date with the most current news. It is not that we
don't keep up ourselves, it is because it is TOO time consuming to try and keep
that current information updated daily. MediFocus has a staff that is
devoted to this, so that is why this information is offered through them and not
kept strictly within this site by NAC-4U™.
However,
I can be reached for consultation for any medical reason or mental disability
through Exp.com. I may be reached through them via e-mail, phone messaging
or at times, chat. The phone and chat are dependant on a number of
reasons, 1) I only spend a few hours a day devoted to being online, 2) I
generally check my e-mail twice a day and receive from Exp.com messages of new
questions. I research almost every question to provide the most up to date
information and provide links for you to find the information for
yourself. The most basic charge is $10.00 and this goes up with the
detailed response you request. To contact me by phone through Exp.com is
$2.50 a minute. Exp.com retains 20% of all revenue charge through them and
take additional money out for phone hook-up fees. I will, within the next
3-4 months, start services through this site using a merchant account and will
be independent of Exp.com. This expansion will be directly link to the
success of this particular site.
It
should be noted that Exp.com has many other Medical, Relationship, Counseling,
Business "experts" available through their site. Also Keen.com
has the same opportunities. If you need immediate answers, you can reach other
"experts" through these sites, who operate on many different time
zones. I would suggest that you use someone who has verified credentials,
as this is a safe guard against receiving wrong information. Exp.com does
a very good job of selecting their "experts", but within any
organization there is always that 10% who got through the system. To
prevent receiving information from Jo Smoe the unemployed ditch digger, it is
always better to find some one with verified credentials. Verification is done
by a third party who checks licenses, certifications, etc. to verify the claims
of the "experts".
If
your question can wait 24 hours, maximum, to be answered then contact me through
these sites. To provide the best possible answers to your questions, try
to be as specific as possible. The following is a list of information
which will help me help you:
1)
Your Specific Question! Generalized Questions are more time consuming to track
down, and leave the "expert", to include me guessing
information. The big questions are Age, male-female, general location of
where you live, allergies, medications, and other health or mental problems,
HAVE YOU SEEN A DOCTOR and if so - what did he or she say.
2)
History, what is the problem, was there any events leading up to the
problem (ie. Car accident, stung by bee, 3 or 4 months of eating
nothing but junk food), other medical or mental problems, family
members (brothers, sisters, father, mother) that demonstrate the same
problems.
3)
What are the symptoms, how bad does it hurt (0-no pain through 10-the worst pain
you ever had), what makes it better, what makes it worse. How long has it
been going on, does it go away and reoccur, does resting help, does elevation
(like putting your foot up on a pillow) help, has this every occurred before,
how long ago, how often does it occur (ex. 2 x month for 3 days each).
4)
The medical problems, medication, allergies, diseases or recent illnesses
do you take or have had. If you have seen a doctor, what did he or she
say, did they perform tests, if so what were they and what was the results.
As
you can see, there is a lot of information, and no I don't expect you to be able
to answer each question and dependant on your problem, they may not even be
needed. However, if you contact me, the more specific you can be helps me
understand the picture that I have to use to see your problem. In some
cases, I may be forced to send you a reply to ask some more specific questions
regarding a point that needs to be covered before I can truly answer you.
Be suspicious of anyone who can answer your question with out some specific
information. If they do, they are either incompetent or giving you a ball
park answer. If you provide no specific's than I too must give you a
generalized answer.
I
hope that you will be contacting me to help clarify or answer your
questions. My first and foremost concern is the patient. I believe
that if your smart enough to ask a question, that I am smart enough to give you
a straight-forward and direct answer. If you ask if someone is going to
die and your information makes it appear that way, I will say yes it would
appear that he or she will DIE. Honesty is always the best policy!
